Warriors Set Personal Records In First Day Of ETSU Invitational

Johnson City, TN - The SWU Men's Track and Field team kicked off their 2018 portion of the indoor campaign today. The ETSU Track & Field Invitational is playing host to over 20 teams from all over the Southeast for this meet in the mountains of Tennessee.

 

Track Event Highlights:

60m: Nick Edwards (SR), the veteran of the Men's program, ran a personal record of 6.95 seconds. This high-octane race placed Nick 10th of over 100 runners and 2nd in the NCAA DII Southeast Region.

400m: Shonquez Caldwell (SO) started 2018 with a strong statement. His 50.66 second run is his new indoor best and currently puts atop the Conference Carolinas leaderboard.

 

 

Field Event Highlights:

Triple Jump: In his third and final attempt, Javon Barmore (JR) leapt his way to a personal best and school record. 14.34 meters, just over 47 feet, was enough for a 4th overall finish and is currently second in the NCAA DII Southeast Region.

 

What's Next:

Southern Wesleyan will continue in the ETSU Invitational on Saturday, January 13.  Saturday will feature the mile run, high jump, DMR and 4X400m relay.
