Dahlonega, GA – Southern Wesleyan falls in the make-up game against the North Georgia Nighthawks on March 29 in a final of 11-5.
Southern Wesleyan posted four hits in the loss to North Georgia. Julio Justo led the Warriors with three hits including two doubles. Justo went on to lead the Warriors with three RBIs. Izzy Martinez and Avery Mahon contributed the remaining two RBIs for the Warriors. John Garrett hit into a sacrifice bunt and stole the lone base for Southern Wesleyan.
Tyler Parry started the game for the Warriors, going 4.2 innings while allowing 12 hits and striking out one batter. Jordan Finster, Brandon Richeson, Hamilton Hartsell and Roth Matthews came in to pitch in relief for the Warriors allowing two runs and two hits while striking out two North Georgia players.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan broke from the start with John Garrett leading off to reach first base after being hit by a pitch. He went on to steal second base and advance to third on a wild pitch. Julio Justo hit a double to left field to bring Garrett home to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.
The Warrior lead was short lived as North Georgia tied the game in the bottom of the first inning. They lengthen their lead to 2-1 on a home run by Conner Corbitt. However the Warriors fought back in the top of the third inning. Steven Perez led off the inning with a walk and then moved on to second base on the sacrifice bunt by John Garrett. DiMarkus Sanders walked to put runners on first and second and bring Julio Justo up to the plate. Justo hit a single to center field to bring Perez home and tie the game at two runs each.
In the bottom of the third, North Georgia brought three more runs home to take a 5-2 lead over Southern Wesleyan. They lengthened their lead to 7-2 on a two run home run by Trevor Sams and then took a 9-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning.
North Georgia took an 11-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. Southern Wesleyan countered in the top of the ninth inning. Quinton Bent walked to lead off the inning and came around to score on a double by Julio Justo. Alec Hrynda walked and then both runners advanced advanced on a passed ball. With runners in scoring position, Christian Ketchup was hit by a pitch to load the bases to bring Izzy Martinez up to bat. Izzy Martinez reached first on a fields choice that moved all the runners up a base and allowing Justo to cross home plate after a throwing error. Avery Mahon walked to bring another run home. The Warrior rally was not enough to bring a victory as North Georgia won the game in a final of 11-5.
The Warriors will next travel to Mars Hill to take on the Lions in a make-up game due to unforeseen weather conditions on March 28. They will hit the field for a 3 pm start. They will next travel to King to take part in a three game Conference Carolinas series against the Tornado starting with a double header on Saturday at 12 and 3 pm, and then a single game on Sunday at 12:30pm.
