Coach Gillespie says...

"Another tough game where we battled, but came up just short.  Back-to-back days with one run defeats can set a team back, but I feel like our team is in a good place and we know what we need to do just a little better from each game."

How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan took an early lead in the top of the first inning.  John Garrett singled through the left side and then advanced to second on a wild pitch.  When Izzy Martinez grounded out, Garrett advanced to third base.  Trey Matthews doubled down the right field line to bring Garrett across home plate.

In the top of the second inning, Devin Patrick reached first on a single up the middle and then advanced to second when Steven Perez singled to left center.  With runners at the corners, Noah Fritz walked to load up the bases.  John Garrett singled to first base to bring Patrick in and put the Warriors up 2-0.

However, solo runs by the Nighthawks in the bottom of the third and fourth innings allowed North Georgia to tie the game.  A home run by Jake Arnold in the seventh inning gave the Nighthawks a 3-2 victory.
