Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the North Greenville Crusaders in game one of the three game series in a 11-3 final score.
Southern Wesleyan posted seven hits in the loss to North Greenville. Izzy Martinez led the team with three hits on the afternoon. Martinez hit a double and a triple during the game, while Trey Matthews home run.
Southern Wesleyan posted seven strikeouts in the loss to North Greenville. Tyler Parry started the game for the Warriors and pitched five innings while striking out six batters. Josh Antwine, Tyler Rio and Alex Tokar came in to pitch in relief.

How It Happened
A home run by Grant put North Greenville up 2-0 in the first inning, however Terry Parry struck out the last batter to keep the Crusaders from extending their lead. Parry kept the Crusaders down until the top of the fifth when a home run allowed North Greenville to take a 5-0 lead.
The Warriors countered in the bottom of the fifth. Izzy Martinez led off with a triple to right center. A single by Quinton Bent brought Martinez in. With one out and a runner at first, Trey Matthews homered to center field to bring Bent in and put Southern Wesleyan down 5-3.
North Greenville pushed their lead to 7-3 on Connor Grant's second home run of the afternoon. The Crusaders won the game 11-3.
Southern Wesleyan will continue their three game series versus the North Greenville Crusaders on March 24. They will then travel to Anderson to take on the Trojans on March 28 at 6 p.m.
