How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan struck first on Wednesday evening.  Izzy Martinez led off with a single through the right side.  Quinton Bent followed with a home run over left field to bring Martinez in and put the Warriors on top 2-0.

Anderson countered and scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning.  Southern Wesleyan put two more runs on the board in the top of the fourth.  Conner Ewing was hit by a pitch to lead off and then on a throwing error Andrew Falgiano reached first to advance Ewing to second.  With two runners on and two out, John Garrett doubled to left center to bring Ewing home.  Izzy Martinez followed with a single through the right side to bring Falgiano in and put Southern Wesleyan down 6-4.

In the top of the ninth, Southern Wesleyan made a push to top Anderson.  Andrew Falgiano got hit by a pitch to lead off and then John Garrett doubled through the left side to advance Falgiano to third base.  Izzy Martinez grounded out to first base, but Falgiano came in to score on the play.  However, the Trojans won the game 6-5.
