Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan dropped the final two games of the three game series against the Emmanuel Lions in 4-0 and 9-2 final scores.
Sawyer Price recorded the lone hit for the Warriors of the day. Jarred Jones started the first game of the day, pitching 4.2 innings while striking out three. Jackson Fischer came in to pitch in relief for Southern Wesleyan and struck out three over 2.1 innings of baseball.
Southern Wesleyan registered 11 hits in game two, with Timo Schau leading the team with three. Quinton Bent and Sawyer Price followed with two hits each. Both Bent and Tanner Glass had doubles during the game. Julio Justo and Bent had the lone RBIs of the game and Jarred Jones led the team with two of the three walks. Schau had the lone stolen base for the Warriors. Josh Antwine started the second game and went six innings while striking out four. Josh Core and Daniel Singleton came in to pitch in relief, combining for four strikeouts over three innings of play.

How It Happened
The Lions put the first runs on the board in the top of the fifth inning as three runners came across home plate. Despite a hit by Sawyer Price, the Lions scored once more to win the game 4-0.
Emmanuel scored four runs in the top of the first to take an early 4-0 lead over Southern Wesleyan. The Warriors countered in the bottom of the inning as Timo Schau singled through the left side. Schau went on to steal second base and then Tanner Glass was hit by a pitch to put two on with only one out. Julio Justo singled to center field to bring Schau in and put Southern Wesleyan down 4-1.
The Lions extended their lead to 5-1 in the top of the third inning. Emmanuel scored more runs in the sixth and seventh innings to extend their lead to 8-1.
Southern Wesleyan countered in the top of the eighth inning. With one out, Jarred Jones walked and then advanced to second as Tanner Glass walked. With two on, a passed ball advanced the runners up a base. Quinton Bent doubled down the left field line to bring Jones in and put the Warriors down 8-2. The Lions went on to win game two in a 9-2 final score.
Southern Wesleyan will next hit the road as they travel to Newberry, SC to take on the Newberry Wolves at 6 p.m. They will remain on the road as they travel to Bristol, TN to take on the King Tornado on March 1-2.
