Cleveland, GA – Southern Wesleyan defeated the Truett-McConnell Bears in a 6-1 final on Tuesday afternoon.
The Warriors recorded 10 hits in the victory over the Bears. Quinton Bent, Sawyer Price and Sean Sutay each had two hits in the win. Jarred Jones contributed with a double during the game, and went on to lead the Warriors with two of the six walks. Both Ty King Richards and Tanner Glass had sacrifice flies, and Timo Schau and DJ Ludwick contributed with stolen bases.
TJ McEvilly started the game against Truett-McConnell. McEvily pitched 3.2 innings while allowing one run off three hits. Josh Antwine came in to pitch in relief and pitched 5.1 innings to pick up a win. Antwine struck out three while allowing three hits.

How It Happened
Truett-McConnell scored first in the bottom of the third inning, however Southern Wesleyan countered in the top of the fifth inning. A wild throw allowed Ty King Richards to reach first. King Richards came in to score on a single by Sean Sutay to allow the Warrior to tie the game 1-1.
The Warriors pushed ahead in the top of the seventh inning. Sawyer Price reached on a walk and then advanced to third on an error by the Bears first baseman. With Price on third, Ty King Richards hit a sacrifice fly to deep right to bring a run in for the Warriors and allow them to take a 2-1 lead. Sean Sutay reached first on a walk and advanced to third on a single by Timo Schau. With Sutay on third, Schau stole second base to put both base runners in scoring position. Jarred Jones walked to load up the bases. With the bases loaded, Tanner Glass hit a sacrifice fly to extend the Warriors lead to 3-1.
Southern Wesleyan extended their lead in the top of the ninth inning. Sean Sutay led off with a single to shallow right-center and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Timo Schau. Jarred Jones doubled down the left field line to bring Sutay in. With Jones on second, Tanner Glass singled to center, but Jones was tagged out. Julio Justo drove Glass in with a single to right. DJ Ludwick came in to pinch run for Justo and then stole second base. A single by Quinton Bent brought Ludwick in to give the Warriors a 6-1 victory over the Bears.
Southern Wesleyan will return to Dr. C Keith Connor Field on March 6 as they host the Newberry Wolves at 6 p.m. They will then resume Conference Carolinas action as they host the Erskine Flying Fleet on March 8 and 9.
