How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan put the first run of the game on the board in the top of the second inning.  Julio Justo led off with a single to center field, and then advanced to second as Quinton Bent grounded out.  Tanner Glass was hit by a pitch to put two on.  With one out and two on base, Conner Ewing singled to bring Justo in to score and give the Warriors a 1-0 advantage.

However, Anderson fought back in the bottom of the second.  Jackson Strange reached first on a single and then a 2-run homerun by Matthew Overton allowed the Trojans to take a 2-1 lead.  The Trojans attacked again in the bottom of the third to bring two more runs in and take a 4-1 lead.

The Warriors continued to battle in the top of the sixth inning.  Quinton Bent reached first on a hit by pitch and then advanced to second as Tanner Glass hit a single up the middle.  A walk to Conner Ewing allowed the Warriors to load up the bases and bring Sawyer Price up to bat.  Price hit a sacrifice fly to center field to allow Bent to come in and put the Warriors down 4-2.

The Trojans put two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.  However, the Warriors challenged again in the top of the eighth.  Quinton Bent led off with a walk and then advanced to third on back-to-back singles by Tanner Glass and Conner Ewing.  With the bases loaded, Sawyer Price hit a sacrifice fly to left field to bring Bent home and make the score 6-3.  Their rally was not enough as Anderson won the game in a 6-3 final.
