Justin Pollock is entering his first season with Warrior baseball. Pollock is no stranger to the college coaching ranks, serving as head coach for 11 years at Toccoa Falls College and one year at Montreat College. While at Toccoa he took the program to new found heights within the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association).
He enters the 2018 campaign as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for Southern Wesleyan. His wealth of knowledge and widespread travel over the southeast will serve the Warriors well going forward in the NCAA D II ranks.
“I am excited to have Justin join our staff,” stated Head Coach Mike Gillespie. He added, “I have known him for a long time, admiring his work ethic, love for the game and passion to instill character in the young men he has coached. He brings with him some great tools that will benefit our program and university. It truly is a great honor to have him join our staff and help us achieve our goals on the field, in the classroom and community.”
Pollock is no stranger to Southern Wesleyan University having coached at TFC and against the Warriors for many years. He is a graduate of nearby Blue Ridge High School where he played baseball. Justin later attended Toccoa Falls College, playing baseball as well for the Eagles.
“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to join the coaching staff at Southern Wesleyan,” stated Pollock. “I have known Coach Gillespie for a long time and I have a lot of respect for him and the history and tradition of the SWU baseball program. I look forward to the privilege of helping our young men grow on and off the field.”
