Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan falls to the Limestone Saints in a 98-70 final on Friday evening.
Jalen Lowery led the Warriors in the loss with 19 points scored. Lowery was followed by DJ Dobson with 15 points. Three Warriors posted two assists. Zalan Richards and Justice McCullough lead the team with six rebounds apiece. Dobson led the team with the lone block.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan jumped out first in the battle versus Limestone on a three point jump shot by Jalen Lowery. They lengthened their lead to 6-1 on a second three point shot by Lowery. The lead was short lived as the Saints sunk shots by Donovan Harris and Macoumba Kane to take a 7-6 point lead. The Saints lengthened their lead to 18-9 on a dunk by TJ Sheppard. Southern Wesleyan countered on a layup and free throw by JT Noellert to come to 18-12 behind Limestone. The Warriors pushed onward with shots by DJ Dobson to shorten their lead to four points and bring the score to 21-17. Shots by Jalen Lowery and Kylie Blackett allowed the Warriors to shorten the Saints led to 25-24 with less than ten minutes remaining in the first half. Limestone regained controlling, taking an 11-point lead on a dunk by Macoumba Kane. At the half, the Saints were leading 48-35.
Southern Wesleyan attacked first in the second half on a three point shot by Jalen Lowery to put the Warriors down ten points to the Saints. Limestone pushed onward with shots by Jaquan Simms and Kenny Hairston to give them a 52-38 point lead. Shots by DJ Dobson and Justice McCullough kept the Warriors within striking distance with less than 14-minutes left in the second half of the game. Three point shots and free throws by Jalen Lowery put the Warriors down 88-66. Limestone claimed the victory in a 98-70 final.
Southern Wesleyan will next travel to Tigerville, South Carolina where they will take on the North Greenville Crusaders on January 10 at 7:30 p.m. They will then return home to take on the Mount Olive Trojans at 4 p.m. on January 13.
