Three Warriors scored double digits in the loss. DJ Dobson led the team with 21 points. Jacob Smith followed with 12 points and Gavin Sears posted 10 points. Smith went on to lead the team with four assists. Southern Wesleyan posted 41 rebounds in the loss with Justice McCullough leading the team with 10 points. Three Warriors posted two steals and Sears led the team with two blocks.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan jumped out early on with a layup by DJ Dobson to give them a 2-0 lead, but the Mount Olive Trojans countered with a jump shot by Cam Robinson to tie the game 2-2. A three point jump shot by Javon Hunter gave the Warriors a 5-2 lead. However, the Trojans countered with a three point jump shot of their own to tie the game 5-5. A layup by Dominique Tham gave the Trojans a 9-7 lead, but the Warriors countered with a layup by DJ Dobson to tie the game. Mount Olive pushed ahead on shots by Cameron Robinson and Darius Spragley to give them a 16-11 point lead. A dunk by Gavin Sears put the Warriors down 15-23 to the Trojans. Shots by Mount Olive put the Trojans ahead 31-17, but the Warriors countered with a layup by Zalan Richards. Mount Olive pushed their lead further ahead, but a three point shot by Jalen Lowery allowed the Warriors to cut the lead to 25-43. The Trojans were leading 48-29 at the half.
Mount Olive struck first in the second half on a free throw and layup by Jamaal Martin to give the Trojans a 51-29 point lead. JT Noellert made a layup to allow the Warriors to come to 21 points behind Mount Olive and make the score 52-31. Back-to-back shots by Dominique Tham allowed the Trojans to take a 56-31 point advantage. Jacob Smith sunk a jump shot and a layup by DJ Dobson put the Warriors down 37-59 to the Trojans. Southern Wesleyan kept fighting with shots by Gavin Sears and Dobson to bring the score to 68-42. The Warriors pushed on with a layup by Issac Ford and free throws by Dobson to come to 48-72 behind Mount Olive. Mount Olive would accept the Southern Wesleyan eight point scoring spree as Alan Treakle sunk a three point jump shot to give the Trojans an 84-55 advantage. The Warriors countered with shots by Jacob Smith and Jeremy Wert to put them down 84-60 with less than five minutes remaining. Mount Olive won the game in a 96-72 final.
Southern Wesleyan will remain at home on Monday, January 15 as they take on the Barton Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. They will then take on the Mars Hill Lions on January 17 and the Belmont Abbey Crusaders on January 20.
