Greenville, SC – Southern Wesleyan defeated the Bob Jones Bruins in an 81-62 final on Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors shot 42.4% from the field and 47.6% from the three point line in the win over the Bruins. Jalen Lowery led the team with 15 points. The sophomore guard was followed by Jeremy Wert with 14 points and Diego Poore with 12 points. The Warriors recorded 26 rebounds with Zalan Richards leading the team with eight. Javon Hunter posted three of the Warriors seven assists. Hunter and Lowery each recorded three steals in the win.

How It Happened
Bob Jones jumped out first twenty seconds into the game on a layup by Jayson Barnhart to take a 2-0 lead over the Warriors. The Bruins continued to push ahead on a three point shot by Barnhart, but a jump shot by Jalen Lowery put the Warriors on the board. Free throws by Jacob Smith put the Warriors within four points of the Bruins and make the score 10-14. Southern Wesleyan continued to challenge as Javon Hunter made a three point shot and Jeremy Wert sunk a layup to put the Warriors down 15-16. Bob Jones countered to take the lead, but back-to-back three point shots by Wert and Lamont Smith allowed Southern Wesleyan to take a 25-22 point advantage. The Warriors continued to push ahead, and a layup by Isaac Ford gave the Warriors a 40-29 point lead going into half.
Jalen Lowery led off the second half with a three point shot to put Southern Wesleyan up 43-29. The Bruins countered with layups by Zachary Orr and Jayson Barnhart to cut the Warriors lead to 45-33. Bob Jones continued to pressure Southern Wesleyan's defense to come to within nine points, but a layup by NaJarius Green gave the Warriors an 11 point advantage. Baskets by Jalen Lowery and Diego Poore allowed Southern Wesleyan to take a ten point lead over Bob Jones. Despite several baskets by Bob Jones, the Warriors continued to push ahead on a jump shot by Christian McLean and three point shot by Poore to take a 66-55 point lead. Southern Wesleyan went on to win the game 81-62.
Southern Wesleyan will next travel to Banner Elk, NC on December 12 to take on the Lees-McRae Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. They will then return to Historic Tysinger Gymnasium on December 15 to take on the University of Mount Olive Trojans at 4 p.m. The Warriors will then travel to Anderson, SC to take on the Anderson Trojans on December 19.
