How It Happened

The Warriors struck first in the contest after Javon Hunter answered from a turnover from the Bulldogs. Barton quickly made up for the error with back-to-back layups forcing a Southern Wesleyan timeout. The Warriors fell behind and fought to pull back within seven with a 3-pointer from Jalen Lowery to trail 8-15. Despite several shots made from the 3-point line, the Bulldogs took advantage of their quick offense and continued to increase their lead. Diego Poore made a jump shot to put the Warriors within ten close to halftime. Lowery ended the first half on a made free throw, but the Bulldogs still remained ahead 56-29 at the half.

Early shots in the second half from Lowery and Poore proved that the Warriors were not done fighting. Christian McLean was able to make strides for the Warriors with a strong presence at the net by nailing several layups and making his shots at the free throw line. The Bulldogs did not let up and challenged the Warriors to play a high-paced game. Despite late shots from Zalan Richards and Jacob Smith, the Warriors were unable to come out on top and fell 96-70 to the Barton Bulldogs.
