Gaffney, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Limestone Saints 93-82 on Saturday afternoon.
Southern Wesleyan shot 48.3% from the field goal in the loss on Saturday afternoon. Jalen Lowery led the Warriors with 33 points. He was followed by Javon Hunter with 17 points. The Warriors recorded 33 rebounds and Zalan Richards led the team with eight. Diego Poore led the team with five assists. Three Warriors posted blocks and steals.

How It Happened
The Warriors scored first in the contest with a layup from Christian McLean. The Saints quickly responded, but Jalen Lowery regained the lead for the Warriors on a made 3-pointer to lead 7-6. Limestone was able to gain control and lead 16-10. Southern Wesleyan was able to climb their way back within five on a layup from Lowery to trail 20-25. The Warriors stayed on the heels of the Saints when a pair of free throws from Javon Hunter put them trailing by two, 28-30. A 3-pointer from Limestone gave them some edge, but the Warriors were able to catch up and trailed only 37-40 at the half.
The Saints answered first in the second half with a layup from Quez Clayton. Hunter made a layup to put the score at 39-42. Limestone went up strong from the 3-point line to stretch their lead after several made shots to lead by ten. Despite the run from the Saints, the Warriors answered on a 3-pointer from Jacob Smith to trail only 54-58. Both teams fought to gain control of the game. A 3-pointer from Hunter put the Warriors trailing 70-77. Despite a late layup from Smith to trail only six, the Saints went on to win the game 93-82.
Southern Wesleyan will return home on January 21 to take on the Lees-McRae Bobcats at 6 p.m. They will remain home to take on the Erskine Flying Fleet on January 24 at 7:30 p.m.
