Bristol, TN - Southern Wesleyan fell to the Tornado in a 88-60 final on Saturday afternoon.
Southern Wesleyan shot 38.9% from the field in the loss. Jalen Lowery led the team with 24 points. He was followed by Diego Poore with 11 and Jacob Smith with 10. The Warriors recorded 26 rebounds with Smith leading the team with seven. Zalan Richards posted three of the team's eight assists. Four Warriors had steals in the game.

How It Happened
Diego Poore put the Warriors on the board early with a jump shot to lead 2-0. The Tornado countered, but Jacob Smith and Jalen Lowery regained the lead with a jumper and 3-pointers to lead 10-6. A jump shot from the Tornado put them up by a basket, but Smith and Lowery quickly responded with jumpers of their own to lead 17-12. King got the ball back and went on a 15-0 run to take control of the half. The Warriors were able to pull within 11 with a jumper from Javon Hunter. The Tornado led 46-30 at halftime.
A Tornado 3-pointer kicked off the second half and King pushed on with the momentum. Lowery made a pair of free throws to put the Warriors on for the second half. Shots from Lowery and Hunter added to the score for the Warriors and trailed 38-59 with 13 minutes to go in the contest. King pressured on defense and held the Warriors to 30 points in the second half. Despite late free throws from Lowery and Poore, the Tornado went on to win the game 88-60.
Southern Wesleyan will travel to Wilson, NC on February 9 to take on the Barton Bulldogs at 4 p.m. They will return home on February 12 to host the North Greenville Crusaders at 7:30 p.m.
