Bristol, Tenn – Southern Wesleyan finishes in second place in King Invitational with a team score of 566. Thomas Nielsen, Ty Campbell, Eric Shea, Joseph McDonagh-Brown and John Keffer all finish in the top twenty with total round scores of 145 or lower.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan finished in second place, just four behind the first place finish for the North Greenville University team. Sophomore Thomas Nielsen led the team, finishing in a tie for sixth place. Nielsen shot a 69 in the first round and then 71 in the sound round of the competition for a total score of 140.
Ty Campbell followed Nielsen to finish in 10th place. Campbell shot a 76 in the first round and a then a 66 in the second round of play to give him a 142. Closely behind Campbell to finish in a tie for 11th place, freshman Eric Shea shot a 143 total. Shea shot 71 in the first round and 72 in the second round.
Joseph McDonagh-Brown finished in a tie for 15th place. McDonagh-Brown shot 72 in both the first and second round to give him a 144 total. Senior John Keffer finished in a tie for 19th place after hitting a 74 in the first round and 71 in the second round for a total of 145.
Southern Wesleyan will next take part in the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne and Lincoln Memorial on October 2-3. They will then travel to the Southeast Regional Preview in Conover, NC on October 9 and 10.
