Southern Wesleyan Sitting in Sixth after Round One of Conference Carolinas Championship

Snow Hill, NC – Southern Wesleyan is sitting in sixth place after the first round of completion in the Conference Carolinas Championship on Sunday.

How It Happened

Thomas Nielsen led the Warriors in the first round.  Nielsen shot -2 under par on the first nine holes of the afternoon, including going under par on both the seventh and eighth hole.  He went on to shoot under par on the 12th and 15th hole.  Nielsen finished just one over par with a total first round score of 73 to put him in a tie for 12th place.  Nielsen was joined in 12th place by teammate Eric Shea.  Shea shot two over par on the first nine holes of the day, but came back on the last nine holes of the afternoon.  He shot one under par on the 12th and 13th holes to give him a total first round score of 73, just one over par.

They were followed by Zach Huebner in a tie for 17th place.  Huebner shot two over par on the first nine holes, but came back on the last nine to give him a total first round score of 74.  Noah Mullens followed Huebner with a total first round score of 76, four over par.  Wrapping up the field for the Warriors is Seve Anfindsen.  Anfindsen shot an 81 on his first round of play in the tournament to put him in 41st place.

Southern Wesleyan will wrap up the Conference Carolinas Championship Tournament on April 15 and 16 to conclude the 2019 season.
