How It Happened

Belmont Abbey attacked first, Aaron Madison driving the ball into the goal to give the Crusaders a 1-0 lead and then moments later Mark Trompeter followed allowing them to take a 2-0 lead over the Warriors.  Grant Kiker took a pass and tried to slide the ball around the goal keeper, but Crusader Wes Holifield took the ball to prevent the Warriors from putting a point on the board.

The Warriors fought hard in the second half, with Grant Kiker making two shots on goal seconds apart, but each going wide.  The Crusaders fought to take their lead deeper, but goal keeper Miguel Uribe blocked their shots to keep the score at 2-0.  Belmont Abbey struck a third time to take their lead to 3-0.  With the Crusaders threatening again and Miguel Uribe above the goal, Abraham Arredondo headed the ball away to save the Warriors from falling further behind Belmont Abbey.  The Crusaders won in a 3-0 final score.
