Banner Elk, N.C. – Southern Wesleyan defeats the Lees-McRae Bobcats in a 2-0 final.
The Warriors posted nine shots and five shots-on-goal in the 2-0 victory over the Bobcats. Grant Kiker led the team with two shots. Jhon Peter Mareus posted the goal for the Warriors with an assist by Alex Olson. Miguel Uribe posted six saves in the victory.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan struck first in the first half of the game. Jhon Peter Mareus took a pass from Alex Olson and passed it on to Juan Sebastian Castor. Castro drove it into the net to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead. The Bobcats attempted to counter on a shot by Pol Vassart, but Miguel Uribe stole the ball from his feet to prevent Lees-McRae from tying the game. On a pass back by the Bobcats, the ball rolled behind the Lees-McRae goalkeeper, Tyler Pavlet, to give the Warriors a 2-0 victory.
The Warriors will next take on the Francis Marion Patriots on October 4 at 7 p.m. at Childs Field. They will remain at home to take on John Wesley on October 7 at 7 p.m. Southern Wesleyan will recognize their seniors during the game.
