Southern Wesleyan Unable to Get Around Francis Marions

Florence, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Francis Marion Patriots in a 6-0 final on Wednesday evening.

Southern Wesleyan took two shots on goal during the game with freshman Zack Hargreaves delivering both shots.  Miguel Uribe played the whole game in goal for the Warriors and posted eight saves off of the Patriots 14 shots on goal.

How It Happened

Francis Marion took an early lead five minutes into the first half of play on a goal by Sidney Warden.  The Patriots continued to pressure the Warriors with three more goals to put them on top 4-0.  The Warriors pressured with a shot on goal by freshman Zack Hargreaves, but goal keeper Kristoffer Gregenaes kept the ball from the net.

The Patriots continued to pressure the Warriors in the second half with shots on goal by Gaspard Mianne and Sam Pollard.  However, Miguel Uribe snatched the balls away to keep Francis Marion from lengthening their lead.  Francis Marion went on to score two more goals and win the game 6-0.

 

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will return home on September 8 as they open up Conference Carolinas action and take on the Lees-McRae Bobcats at 5:30 p.m.  They will then travel to North Georgia on September 12 to take on the Nighthawks at 7 p.m.
