Columbia, SC - Southern Wesleyan competed in the Carolina Challenge on Friday and Saturday with several guys placing within the top twenty-five in their events.
How It Happened
60 Meter Hurdles : Leonard Holmes led the Warriors in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.59 to take 13th place.
400 Meters : Mychael Lipscomb led Southern Wesleyan in the 400 meters with a time of 52.08 to take 73rd place. Lipscomb was followed by Jacob Harris in 87th place with a time of 52.87. Camden Davis took 100th place with a time of 54.65 and Kaleb Jackson finished in 106th place with a time of 56.19.
800 Meters : The Warriors were led by Thomas Williams in the 800 meter with a 55th place finish and a time of 2:04.18. Williams was followed by Camden Davis in 66th place with a time of 2:07.36. Mychael Lipscomb finished in 74th place with a time of 2:14.62 and Josiah Turner finished 77th with a time of 2:17.87.
3000 Meters : In the 3000 meters, Freshman Peyton Shelton broke a school record and finished in 23rd place with a time of 9:03.76. He was followed by Konnor Palacios who took 37th place with a time of 9:38.51.
Shot Put : Keuntrai Robinson placed 18th with a distance of 12.66 meters in the shot put.
Weight Throw : Christian Swindle led the Warriors in the weight throw with a distance of 13.86 meters and placed 10th. Keuntrai Robinson followed Swindle in 17th place with a distance of 12.89 meters.
Southern Wesleyan will travel to Birmingham, AL to compete in the Samford Invite on February 8 and 9. They will then compete in the Conference Carolinas Championships on February 17 in Winston Salem, NC.
