Warriors Finish Seventh In Conference Carolinas Championship

Winston-Salem, NC - Southern Wesleyan finished seventh in the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track and Field Championship on Sunday. The Warriors finished just five points behind the Emmanuel College Lions.

How It Happened

Track Results

60 Meter Hurdles : Leonard Holmes took sixth place in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.68.

400 Meters : Dymitric Ray led the Warriors in the 400 meters, taking sixth place with a time of 50.01.

800 Meters : In the 800 meters, Jacob Harris took twelfth with a time of 2:02.98. Harris was followed by Camden Davis in 21st with a time of 2:12.55.

3000 Meters : Southern Wesleyan took eighth in the 3000 meters as Peyton Shelton crossed the finish line with a time of 9:27.61. Konnor Palacios followed in 13th place with a time of 9:54.39.

4000m Distance Medley Relay : The Warriors team of Konnor Palacios, Jannai Maxwell, Thomas Williams and Peyton Shelton finished in sixth place with a time of 11:22.30. 

4x400 Meter Relay : Southern Wesleyan finished third in the 4x400 relay. Shonquez Caldwell, Jannai Maxwell, Dymitric Ray and Thomas Williams finished seconds behind the Limestone Saints team of Frederic, Stalling, Michael and Morrison. Caldwell, Maxwell, Ray and Williams finsihed with a time of 3:25.72.

Field Results

Weight Throw : Keuntrai Robinson set a new school record and finished fourth place in the weight throw with a distance of 14.79 meters.

Triple Jump : Javon Barmore took third in the triple jump as he jumped a distance of 14.26 meters.

High Jump : Freshman Chandler Whittle cleared a height of 1.90 meters in the high jump to put him in fourth place. He was followed by Johnny Bogert in ninth place with a height of 1.75 meters.

Shot Put : Junior Keuntrai Robinson also broke the school record in the shot put with a distance of 13.72 meters. He took sixth place. Robinson was followed by Christian Swindle in tenth place with a distance of 11.93 meters.

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will kick off their Outdoor Track and Field season on March 2 at the Berry Invitational. They will then compete in the Charlotte 49ers Classic in Charlotte, NC on March 15 and 16.
