Coach Adkins says...
"Tough losses today. Young Harris has a very good ball team. They were better than us in every aspect of the game. We have learned a lot about ourselves as a team playing the first 14 games away from home, with 13 of them being true road games. We look forward to playing at home at the end of next week."
How It Happened
The Mountains Lions started strong in the bottom of the first inning with a home run and several singles to take a 4-0 lead over the Warriors. They went on to win game one in a 10-0 final.
The Warriors struck first in game two. Kassidy Hamrick led off with a walk and then advanced to second when Megan New singled up the middle. An error and a failed pick-off attempted allowed both runners to advance to scoring position. Hamrick came home to score to put the Warriors up 1-0.
However, the Mountain Lions countered in the bottom of the first to tie the game and then in the fourth inning they pulled ahead to take a 6-1 lead. They went on to win the game 7-1.
Southern Wesleyan will host their home opener against the GA Southwestern Canes on March 3 at 3 and 5 p.m. They will then return to the road against the Newberry Wolves on March 9.
