Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan is swept by the Lees-McRae Bobcats in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors fell 3-0 in game one and 1-0 in game two.
The Warriors recorded five hits in the game one loss, with Megan New leading the team with two hits. New recorded one double during the game. Three Warriors walked during the game. Josie Edwards started game one and went four innings while striking out one batter. Hunter Hoskins came in to pitch in relief and struck out four.
The Warriors only recorded one hit in game two of the afternoon on a hit by senior Natalie Johnson. Megan New posted two of the Warriors four walks. Makaila Irby and Kali Berrigan each had sacrifice bunts, and Becca White and New each recorded a stolen base. Hunter Hoskins recorded a complete game and struck out four in the loss.

How It Happened
Lees-McRae put the first run on the board in the top of the second. The Warriors challenged, but the Bobcats held them back. Despite getting seven runners on base, the Bobcats won the game 3-0.
The Bobcats attacked in the top of the second inning when a sacrifice fly brought Kristen Doss across home plate. The Warriors threatened several times, but, despite a strong outing by Hunter Hoskins, Lees-McRae won the game 1-0.
Southern Wesleyan will next travel to Limestone to take on the Saints on March 22. They will remain on the road as they travel to Converse on March 24.
