Dahlonega, GA - Southern Wesleyan fell to the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers in a 13-2 final and then fell to the North Georgia Nighthawks in a 4-0 final.
Southern Wesleyan had three hits in the loss to the Chargers. Megan New, Ashton Martin, and Taylor Le each posted a hit for the Warriors. Ashton Martin had the lone RBI and double in the contest. Emma Collins, Kali Berrigan, and Le each drew walks. Lydia Clanton had two stolen bases. The Warriors posted four strikeouts in the loss, two coming from starting pitcher, Emma Collins and two coming from relief pitcher, Ashton Martin.
The Warriors had one hit in the game two loss. Lydia Clanton had the lone hit in the contest and Riley Herdliska had the only walk. Southern Wesleyan posted two strikeouts in the loss, one coming from starting pitcher, Delanie Laudenbacher and one coming from Ashton Martin. Emma Collins came in to pitch after Martin and closed out the last three innings.

"We have to look at today as an opportunity instead of failure. We had an opportunity to play some of the top DII teams in the country. There are some things that we can improve on that's 100% in our control and those are the things that we will focus on. It will be fun to be back at home next week and continue to prepare for conference play."
How It Happened
The Chargers struck first in the contest, scoring the first run on a fielder's choice and scoring the second run on a single down the right field line. They led 2-0 in the first inning.
In the bottom of the second inning, Reagan Malone doubled to score Taylor Wascavage. The Chargers added two more runs on a single from Shelby Booker and Jada Hayes. Alaina Hampton of Alabama-Huntsville tripled to score two more. They led 6-0 going into the top of the third.
Alabama-Huntsville added five more runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Lydia Clanton was hit by a pitch to lead-off the top of the fourth inning. She stole second base. Kali Berrigan drew a walk. Ashton Martin doubled to right field to advance Berrigan to third and score Clanton. Kassidy Hamrick pinch ran for Martin. Taylor Le drew a walk. Berrigan scored on a wild pitch and Hamrick advanced to third. They trailed 13-2.
The Chargers went on to win the game 13-2.
In the top of the first inning, the Nighthawks tacked on a run to lead early in the game 1-0. In the top of the third inning, North Georgia added two more runs to lead 3-0. The top of the fourth was led-off with a single to score Olivia Sinquefield.
Clanton was able to get a single in the bottom of the fourth inning, but was thrown out at second base to end the inning. The Nighthawks went on to win the game 4-0.
Southern Wesleyan will host the Anderson Trojans on February 19 at 6 p.m. They will then host the Blue-White Alumni Tournament on February 22 and February 23.
