Anderson, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell in the doubleheader against the Trojans on Wednesday afternoon in 9-0 and 6-3 final scores.
Southern Wesleyan had two hits in the loss to the Trojans. Taylor Le and Ashton Martin had the lone hits for the Warriors. Martin posted her second double on the season. Southern Wesleyan posted two strikeouts in the loss. One from starting pitcher, Delanie Laudenbacher, and one from relief pitcher, Emma Collins. Laudenbacher went 3.2 innings and allowed nine hits. Collins went 0.1 innings and allowed one hit.
The Warriors had five hits in game two. Ashton Martin, Emma Collins, Taylor Le, Delaney Byers, and Lydia Clanton each posted one hit apiece. Clanton led the team with two RBIs and was followed by Amber Belk with one. Martin and Lexi Thompson each drew walks. Clanton had her third home run of the season. Le, Grace McGuffin, and Amber Belk each had a stolen base. Southern Wesleyan posted six strikeouts, all coming from starting pitcher, Ashton Martin. Martin pitched all six innings and allowed nine hits.

How It Happened
The Trojans struck first in the contest on Wednesday afternoon in the bottom of the third inning. Kasey Grant scored on a single from Josie NesSmith and a home run from Mattie Hamilton cleared the bases to lead 5-0.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Trojans added four more runs to lead 9-0 and went on to win game one.
Anderson struck first in game two with a triple down the right field line from Morgan Charter to score Mattie Hamilton. The Trojans led 1-0 at the bottom of the second inning.
Emma Collins singled in the top of the third inning and stole second and third base. Amber Belk reached first on a fielder's choice but was out at second base. This allowed Collins to score and give Belk an RBI. The Warriors were tied 1-1 going into the bottom of the third inning.
The Trojans countered in the bottom of the fifth inning. Joshlyn Martin doubled down the left field line to score two runs and give Anderson the 3-1 lead over the Warriors.
In the top of the sixth inning, Taylor Le led-off with a single down the left field line. Le stole second and was in scoring position when Lydia Clanton came up to bat. Clanton homered to center field to score two runs and tie the game 3-3.
Anderson added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to lead 6-3. They went on to win game two against the Warriors.
Southern Wesleyan opens Conference Carolinas play on March 12 as the Emmanuel College Lions come to town. Games will be at 3 and 5 p.m. They will then travel to Lees-McRae to play the Bobcats on March 15 at 1 and 3 p.m.
