Banner Elk, NC - Southern Wesleyan fell to the Lees-McRae Bobcats on Sunday afternoon in 7-0 and 14-5 final scores.
Southern Wesleyan posted three hits in the game one loss on Saturday afternoon. Taylor Le, Megan New and Addie Nugent each acquired one apiece. Four Warriors drew walks and Delaney Byers possessed the lone stolen base for the team. Nugent added her second double on the season. Southern Wesleyan posted 11 strikeouts in game one, all coming from starting pitcher, Delanie Laudenbacher. Laudenbacher went six innings before relief pitcher Emma Collins came in to finish.
The Warriors had three hits in game two against the Bobcats. Lydia Clanton led the team with two and Delaney Byers followed with one. Three Warriors drew walks. Clanton led the team at the plate, boasting a home run and a double. Byers also had a double of her own. Clanton and Byers each earned 2 RBIs. Ashton Martin started on the mound for the Warriors and went 3.2 innings before Delanie Laudenbacher came in at relief.

"Tough day for us today. I give a lot of credit to Lees-McRae. They were just better than us today. I know that we are better than the way we played today. We are not going to over think this or over think that. It was just one of those days. We will get some rest and look forward to playing a very good opponent on Wednesday at Erskine."
How It Happened
The Bobcats struck first in the contest, adding one run in the bottom of the first to take the early 1-0 lead.
Lees-McRae went on to add five runs in the fourth inning to lead 6-0.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Bobcats added one more run to go on and win game one 7-0.
Southern Wesleyan scored first in game two. Taylor Le led the inning off by reaching on a error. Delaney Byers then reached first due to a fielder's choice that got Le out at second. Byers advanced to third on a passed ball. Lydia Clanton then drew a walk. Megan New reached on an error that also advanced Clanton to third and scored Byers. The Warriors led 1-0 after the first inning.
In the top of the second inning, Berrigan led-off with a walk. Addie Nugent reached on a fielder's choice after Berrigan was thrown out at second. Le drew a walk and Nugent advanced to second. Byers doubled to right center to score both Le and Nugent. Clanton followed with a double down the left field line to score Byers and put the Warriors ahead 4-0. The Bobcats added a run in the bottom of the second and trailed 4-1 after two innings.
The Bobcats added four more runs in the bottom of the third inning to take the 5-4 lead.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Lees-McRae tacked on nine more runs to lead 14-4.
Clanton homered in the top of the fifth inning, but the Warriors were unable to add anymore. The Bobcats won game two 14-5.
Southern Wesleyan travels to Erskine College to take on the Flying Fleet on March 20 at 1 and 3 p.m. They will then travel to Belmont Abbey to play the Crusaders on March 23 at 2 and 4 p.m.
