Franklin Springs, GA - The Warriors fell to the Emmanuel College Lions in Conference Carolinas action on Tuesday evening in a final score of 80-61.
Tatiyana Mahone led the Warriors with 16 points in the loss. She was followed by Erika Wesolek with eight points and Breanna Richardson with seven. Southern Wesleyan posted a field goal percentage of 38.6% and were 10-19 at the free throw line. Tomi Sanchez led the Warriors in assists with four and she was followed by Mahone with three.
Southern Wesleyan posted 39 rebounds in the loss compared to the Lions 43. Tatiyana Mahone led the Warriors in rebounds with ten. She was followed by Tatiana Manuel and Taylor Vinson with five rebounds apiece. Manuel led the team in blocks with two and she was followed by Kristen Smith with one. Mahone and Wesolek each had a steal against the Lions.

How It Happened
The Warriors struck first in the game against Emmanuel College with a jump shot from Breanna Richardson. The Lions responded with a layup to tie the game early on. The Lions began to rally and increased their lead despite 3-pointers from Richardson and Tomi Sanchez. Emmanuel led at the end of the first quarter 22-14.
Breanna Richardson posted a layup immediately in the start of the second quarter to before the Lions made a layup to continue their lead. Back-to-back shots from Tatiyana Mahone put the Warriors within five at 21-26. Despite the hard fight from the Warriors, the Lions still remained on top at the half at 34-26.
The Lions struck first in the third quarter with a layup from Timia Reynolds. Tatiyana Mahone and Tatiana Manuel responded with shots and brought the Warriors with nine at 30-39. Erika Wesolek made a 3-pointer to battle for the Warriors, but Emmanuel rallied to maintain the led at 55-36.
Taylor Delasbour struck first for the Lions in the fourth quarter with a jump shot and a 3-pointer. Brooke Strickland made a free throw and layup to put the Warriors trailing 39-60 behind the Lions. The Warriors made several free throws to continue the battle. But despite late shots from Cayse Branyon, Taylor Vinson, and Erika Wesolek, the Lions were able to finish on top at 80-61.
The Warriors will return home on Friday, February 24 at 5:30 p.m. to recognize the Seniors. They will face the Limestone Saints in the last regular season game.
