Gaffney, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Limestone Saints in a 94-55 final on Saturday evening.
Southern Wesleyan shot 31% from the field in the loss to the Saints. Tatiyana Mahone boasted 16 points in the loss to lead the Warriors. Mahone was followed by Jessica Sparks and Noelle van Zadelhoff with 10 points each. Kasey Howard led the team with three assists.
The Warriors posted 44 rebounds, with senior Tatiyana Mahone boasting 12 rebounds to lead the team and gain her second double-double game in two days. Four Warriors posted steals and Noelle van Zadelhoff had the lone block for Southern Wesleyan.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan kicked off the first quarter with a layup by Breanna Richardson to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead over Limestone. The Saints countered to tie the game 2-2 on a layup by Keidra Smith. Limestone took the lead with a layup by Jasmine Richardson to make the score 5-2. A layup by Tatiyana Mahone allowed the Warriors to shorten the distance to 4-5. The Warriors countered the Saints movements as Jessica Sparks made a jump shot to put Southern Wesleyan down 6-7. Limestone took a 17-7 point lead on a three pointer by Taylour Hunter. A layup by Noelle van Zadelhoff allowed the Warriors to cut the Saints lead to 17-9
The Warriors kicked off the second quarter with a jump shot by Breanna Richardson to put the Warriors down 11-17. Limestone continued to pressure with a three point shot by Taylour Hunter to give them a 22-11 point lead. A layup by Kasey Howard allowed the Warriors to 25-13 behind the Saints. Kallie Hall took a pass from Breanna Richardson and sunk a jump shot to put the Warriors down 16-26. A layup by Tatiyana Mahone allowed the Warriors to come within eight points of Limestone.
Limestone kicked off the third quarter with a three point shot by Aliya Ruffin. The Warriors countered to stay within ten points of the Saints on a jump shot by Tatiyana Mahone to make the score 35-25. The Saints pushed ahead to take a 41-25 point lead on a second shot by Ruffin. Jump shots by Denisha Hall and Noelle van Zadelhoff put the Warriors down 29-47 to the Saints. The Saints pushed ahead, but Noelle van Zadelhoff countered with a jump shot to put the Warriors down 34-61 to Limestone.
The Saints struck first in the fourth quarter with a three point shot by Taylour Hunter, however the Warriors countered with a jump shot by Tatiyana Mahone to put the Warriors down 39-68. Jessica Sparks took a pass from Mahone to put up a three point shot to allow the Warriors to cut the Saints advantage to 42-68. Southern Wesleyan fought back with free throws by Sparks and a layup by Breanna Richardson to put the Warriors down 46-71. Sparks stole the ball from the Saints and put up a three point shot to allow the Warriors to come to 51-75 behind the Saints with just over six minutes left in the final quarter of play. A good jump shot and layup by Tatiyana Mahone put the Warriors down 88-55. The Saints won the game 94-55.
Southern Wesleyan will return to Historic Tysinger Gymnasium on January 31st as they take on the Erskine College Flying Fleet at 5:30 p.m. They will travel to Wilson, NC to take on the Barton Bulldogs on February 3 at 2 p.m.
