Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the North Greenville Crusaders in a 81-71 final score on Friday night to conclude their 2017-18 campaign.
The Warriors shot 38.6% from the field and went 66.7% at the three point line. Tatiyana Mahone led the team and scored 21 points in the loss to the Crusaders. Mahone was followed by Aneysa Williams with 13 points and Jessica Sparks with 15 points. Mahone went on to post four assists and was followed by Breanna Richardson with three.
Southern Wesleyan had 41 rebounds during the game. Tatiyana Mahone led the team with nine rebounds. Mahone went on to have the lone steal and Noelle van Zadelhoff posted the only block during the game.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan jumped out early, taking a 2-0 lead on a jump shot by Kallie Hall. North Greenville was quick to retaliate and tie the game on a jump shot by Karen Donehew. The Crusaders pulled ahead to take a 7-4 lead, but free throws by Aneysa Williams and a jump shot by Noelle van Zadelhoff allowed the Warriors to take the lead and make the score 8-7. The Crusaders took the lead again, but a layup by Kasey Howard allowed the Warriors to come within three.
The Crusaders took a seven point lead in the second quarter on a layup by Bree Stoddard. However, a layup by Aneysa Williams and a jump shot by Jessica Sparks brought the Warriors to 14-19 behind the Crusaders. North Greenville pushed ahead to take a 14 point lead on back-to-back three point shots by Cameron Carter.
Southern Wesleyan kicked off the third quarter with a jump shot Tatiyana Mahone to make the score 23-36. North Greenville countered with several shots in a roll, but free throws by Breanna Richardson and a layup by Tatiyana Mahone put the Warriors to 27-40. Shots by Mahone and Aneysa Williams allowed the Warriors to come within twelve.
A three point jump shot by Jessica Sparks allowed the Warriors to bring the score to 44-57 to kick off the final quarter. Back-to-back shots by Tatiyana Mahone and Aneysa Williams allowed the Warriors to bring the score to 50-60. North Greenville continued to pressure with free throws by Tyana Saunders. The Crusaders won in an 81-71 final score.
