Cleveland, TN – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Lee Flames in a 20-1 final score on Saturday afternoon.
Southern Wesleyan recorded four shots with Amy Pfefferkorn and Tabitha Beecher both recorded two shots on goal in the game. Beecher had the lone goal for the Warriors. Southern Wesleyan had five draw controls during the game. Kelsey Hawkins led the team with two of the five caused turnovers of the game. Hawkins and Amy Pfefferkorn had the lone ground balls. Kaeleigh McDaniel recorded eight saves in the loss.

How It Happened
Lee took the early lead as a draw control by Kaylyn Dillon led to a goal by Becca Broadwick. Despite saves by Kaeleigh McDaniel, the Flames extended their lead to 11-0 before Amy Pfefferkorn and Tabitha Beecher put up the first shots on goal for the Warriors. At the half, Lee was up 14-0 over Southern Wesleyan.
Southern Wesleyan continued to pressure as they picked up a ground ball and moved the ball down the field. Tabitha Beecher got around the Flames defense and got the ball into the net to put up the Warriors first goal of the game. The Flames went on to win the game 20-1.
Southern Wesleyan will next travel to Truett-McConnell to take on the Bears on February 26 at 3 p.m. They will then return to Childs Field to host the Columbia Koalas on February 28 at 6 p.m. The Warriors will then host their first Conference Carolinas game of the season as they welcome the University of Mount Olive Trojans on March 2 at noon.
