Clemson, SC - Southern Wesleyan fell to the University of Mount Olive Trojans on Saturday afternoon in a 20-2 final score at LoConte Family Field on the campus of Clemson University.
The Warriors put up three shots in the loss to the Trojans, with all three being shots on goal. Jairy Sandoval, Latia Santos, and Amy Pfefferkorn all posted one shot. Sandoval and Santos each contributed one goal. Pfefferkorn had the lone assist for the Warriors. Kaeleigh McDaniel led the team with six groundballs. She was followed by six other Warriors that contributed one apiece. Southern Wesleyan had seven draw controls. Taylor Hames and Tabitha Beecher led with two apiece. McDaniel had 17 saves during the game.

How It Happened
The University of Mount Olive attacked first on a goal by Jordan Shughrue to take an early 1-0 lead. The Trojans were able to gain a 4-0 lead before a goal by Jairy Sandoval put the Warriors on the board. Amy Pfefferkorn assisted Sandoval in the goal. Despite saves by Kaeleigh McDaniel, the Trojans extended their lead to 11-1 going into halftime.
The Trojans came out first in the second half with a quick pace to increase their lead to 15-1. The Warriors continued to battle and McDaniel stayed strong at the goal. Mount Olive tacked on four more goals before Latio Santos was able to take the ball to the goal after a draw control from Pfefferkorn. The Trojans added one more late in the half to go on and win the game 20-2.
Southern Wesleyan will host the Barton Bulldogs on March 9 at 11 a.m. and then they will host Ohio Valley in non-conference action on March 12 at 3 p.m.
