Warriors Have Several Top 10 Finishes In ETSU Invitational

Johnson City, TN - Even though the snow fell outside, The Warriors Women's Teams heated up inside the ETSU Mini-dome with Day 2 performances at the ETSU Track & Field Invitational.


Coach Thiel says... 

"Our staff is very excited about how our team competed this weekend.  It is early in the season, but our program took a solid fist step these past few days."


Track Event Highlights:

400: Jami Lewis claimed event champion in the 400m. In a tight race which she lead from the gun, Lewis battled through the final round to win her first open event of the season.

4x400m Relay: In the final event of the day for the SWU Women, the quartet of Kayla Achenbach (SO), Amy Barton (SR), Lyric King (SO) and Jami Lewis (SO) placed 2nd of all teams competing. The time of 3:58.05 is currently the fastest time for DII in the Southeast region.


Field Event Highlights:

Long Jump: Newcomer A'Miracle Scott (FR) jumped her way into a Top 10 finish with a mark of 5.38 meters. This is an eight inch improvement from her first previous meet.


What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will next travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to take part in the Wake Forest Invitational on January 19-20.
