USTFCCA Announces NCAA DII All-Region Honorees

New Orleans, LA – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the NCAA Division II All-Region honorees for the 2019 Outdoor Track and Field season on Tuesday (May 14).  Conference Carolinas had 71 student-athletes named All-Region honorees, with Southern Wesleyan having 10 individuals named, four named honorees in multiple events.

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West – match those used during the cross country season.

A total of 1831 honors were handed out to USTFCCCA member institutions on Tuesday, which included 926 to men's programs and an additional 905 to women's programs.

Conference Carolinas had 71 individuals, 38 men and 33 women, receive Southeast All-Region honors. Of the 71, 13 women received all-region honors in multiple events, while 11 men received multiple all-region recognition.

For Southern Wesleyan Keauntai Robinson and Chandler Whittle represented the men's team for the Warriors.  Robinson was honored in the hammer throw, and Whittle recieved recognition in the high jump.  They were joined by eight ladies.  Four ladies received honors in one event including Chyna Campbell in the 100 meter hurldes, Mycherie Onwuzuruike in the long jump, Kelsie Smith in the hammer and Paris West in the shot put.  Four other ladies received honors in multiple events.  In thier first seasons with the Warriors, Michele Beugre was recognized in the 200 meters, 4x100 meter relay, and 4x400 meter relay, and Amanda Trapp received recognition in the 4x400 meter relay and 4x100 meter relay.  Lyric King was recognized in the 4x100 meter relay, the 4x400 meter relay and the 100 meter.  Jami Lewis walked away with four honors in her junior season in the 4x100 meter relay, 400 meters, 4x400 meter relay and 400 meters.
